Jerusalem: God’s Holy City
Truro Church Confirmation Program 2010-2011

As an opportunity for deeper discipleship, students have the opportunity to go to Jerusalem. This will be an experience where students' faith intersects their reality. They will have the opporunity to walk where Jesus walked, to interact with teens of Jewish and Muslim faith, and to understand their faith on a new level. This Journey to Jerusalem is not required, but is an opporunity for students who want to dig deeper.

Shoresh Study Tours Itinerary
Please note: Itinerary and accommodation subject to change if conditions necessitate.


Sunday, Dec. 26: Afternoon/evening arrival, transfer to Jerusalem for dinner and rest.  Overnight at the Christ Church Guest House, Jerusalem.
Monday, Dec. 27: Tour Old City of Jerusalem - Temple Mount, Western Wall & Tunnel tour, Southern Steps, Herodian villa.  Overnight Jerusalem.
Tuesday, Dec. 28: Mt. of Olives, Dominus Flevit, Gethsemane, Bethesda, Holy Sepulchre, Garden Tomb, Seder meal in the evening.  Overnight Jerusalem.
Wednesday, Dec. 29: Free day in Jerusalem.  Overnight Jerusalem.
Thursday, Dec. 30: Dead Sea day - Masada, Ein Gedi, Qumran, float in the Sea.  Overnight Jerusalem or Dead Sea.
Friday, Dec. 31: North up the Jordan Valley - Bet Shean, Ein Harod, Kibbutz Gesher.  Overnight Galilee.
Saturday, Jan. 1: Around the Galilee - Capernaum, Mt. of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Mt. Arbel, Ginosar, afternoon boat ride on the Galilee.  Overnight Galilee.
Sunday, Jan. 2: Mt. Carmel, Caesarea, meet w/ students at Gymnasia HaIvrit in Tel Aviv for dinner before evening departure flight.

Costs for Journey to Jerusalem

The Price of Your Shoresh Tour Includes:

 

  • Accommodation - half-board (breakfast & dinner) in en-suite shared twin rooms, taxes & portage.
  • Transportation - bus and driver for touring and group transfers to and from airport.
  • Guide - Licensed Christian/Messianic guide.
  • Tips - Driver, Guide, Hotels.
  • Guest speakers (if specified).
  • Entrance fees - Historical sites, museums, parks, etc.
  • Study Materials.
  • Not Included: Travel insurance (mandatory); Lunches, snacks; Individual activities on free days; Personal discretionary spending.

Single Supplement: This is the additional cost for a single room.
